In 2008, FWR Group started searching for an accounting and business service that fit with our Company policy to minimise paper use and greenhouse gas emissions in all operations. After searching for some time, we realised that finding a business that ticked all the right boxes was going to be harder than we expected.

After searching for some time, we realised that finding a business that ticked all the right boxes was going to be harder than we expected. We needed a company that were Certified Practising Accountants, technology-savvy, and operating in such a way as to minimise their carbon footprint. A tall order in what is considered a fairly traditional sector.
In late 2008, we stumbled upon the website of a niche, business Service Company based in South Australia that seemed to check all the boxes. FWR Group now performs all of the following accounting and bookkeeping tasks via the Melior Business Services virtual business portal:
- Bookkeeping – submission of digital invoices, expenses, receipts and BAS;
- Receipt Scanning and Archiving– all receipts are either in digital format and stored on Melior's secure online, network portal or are scanned and stored if in hard copy;
- Accounting – Submission of company accounting documents, BAS, and payment of tax/PAYG/Superannuation;
- Financial Statements and Company Reports – all fully Australian Tax Office compliant; and,
- Communications and Meetings with bookkeeper, accountant and virtual business portal administrator.
At any time and from anywhere in world, all FWR Group need are an internet connection and we can quickly find, share and view our latest Company Reports, expense accounts, and receipts. Or, communicate with our bookkeeper in real time via online meetings. This convenience gives us time to concentrate on our core business without having to spend the time training up an in house bookkeeper and developing systems of support. For a growing Company, this allows us to keep our business expenses in line with, and scaled to, our business growth and encourages a continued focus on what we are good at.
