Observations on Japan and Sustainability
I recently had the pleasure of travelling to Japan on a short holiday, but as seems to be the case in this industry, we never actually take the sustainability goggles off, so my trip was as much an education in culture as it was an observation of how Japan approaches sustainability. Reflecting on Japan's sustainability initiatives has also encouraged me to reflect further on our efforts here at home...READ MORE.
In the recent Greenbiz article (24/04/09), authors Adam Morton and Mathew Murphy emphasise that 'a time of crisis is more often then not a time of opportunity. 'The opportunity most commonly linked to the financial crisis is green jobs — in emerging industries, such as renewable energy, and the re-skilling of those already working in manufacturing, construction and services'. We would agree! However, for the mass of businesses not working in the zone of 'green' and cleantech 'green' jobs are even a more important opportunity then most might think. In fact you might just have some of these green 'intrapreneurs' already working for you...READ MORE.

GREEN BUSINESS by Bibi Van Der Zee
Green Business is a practical pocket-sized guide to how you can make your business greener. It provides a useful view of the main areas of a business to focus on to reduce waste, save energy and implement more sustainable practices, many of which can also have a positive effect on the business's bottom line
Well that's it from us this time! We are working on a more regular communication plan that will incorporate both Sustainability and Web 2.0 systems. If you have any suggestions, feedback, or want to contribute, we are actively looking for contributors to Ecolect and would welcome your thoughts.
And, hey, if you are bored with your day job and want to talk to us about where you might be able to both contribute to or join the FWR Group Team, we are actively looking for Team members as we continue to expand over the coming months. Give us a yell!
Enjoy and thanks for reading!
Regards,
The FWR Group Team
