FWR Group presents at Central Queensland Carbon Forum
In early October, Michael Duggan, FWR Group Managing Director had the opportunity to travel to Gladstone to speak at the Central Queensland Carbon Forum.
The Forum was Central Queensland's most comprehensive event in addressing the impacts of potential carbon pollution reduction schemes. In excess of 100 people attended the Forum and attendees included many industry leaders and decision makers from the community and a wide range of industries and businesses. The Federal Minister for Climate Change and Water, The Honourable Penny Wong, made a special stop in Gladstone to speak at the Forum and provided insight on the Federal Government's stance on emissions trading and the carbon pollution reduction scheme.
The Forum provided local business and the community with the challenges and opportunities facing Central Queensland being brought about by emissions trading. Michael Duggan presented on the social impacts of change and developing a resilient region. FWR Group, having completed community impact assessment and modelling work on the SANTOS LNG Project to be based in the Gladstone and Roma regions of Queensland, are uniquely placed to provide insight on the impact emissions trading may have upon the community and business.
